Today students shared their conference notes with each other. Students showed great skill not only sharing but asking questions and demonstrating strong listening skills. This activity is very beneficial as it helps students to continue to reflect on their progress. They all are very excited about sharing with their parents.

Cell 3 Student Engagement Intellectual Work demonstrates student ownership of their learning. Students do this planning at the start of each week to refocus their attention on what is truly important. This helps each student become self aware of what they need to accomplish as an individual.

Teacher adjusts instruction and provides needed questioning and tools during lesson
While students were working towards discovering various ways to make 25 cents I realized some students needed manipulative to help them solve the problem. Once I provided the needed tools and asked guiding questions students were able to solve the problem. Not all students needed the same tools to solve the problem. Students persisted for nearly 50 minutes to find all the combinations.
Classroom culture
A few minutes each day is scheduled to reflect on he seven habits. This helps students develop a culture of excellence in our room.

Students analyze NWEA scores and compare them to where they should be. They analyzed their data to see if growth was made. Then students discussed strategies that would help them to continue making growth.

Prepping test
Students spend 30minutes each week working to prepare for the quiz that goes along with the story. The main objective of this exercise is to teach students how to refer to the text for answers. It also provides practice skim reading and using text features such as pictures to answer questions
